Similar to the Microsoft Excel training, I came into this training with some familiarity from my time in class. However, in this case, I learned things not focused on in class and have more of an appreciation for Omeka in the sense that I understand its capabilities more now. I liked the different themes that I could use and feel like there’s a lot of possibilities with those I haven’t explored. One thing I found slightly confusing and that I would like to better understand is the differences between all of the different data entry fields, including even alt text. There’s descriptions and captions and alt-text and subject metatada, plus the description that is built into a page. I wonder what the best way to use them is. That said, I feel like I would be some degree of comfortable teaching someone else to use Omeka because even the parts that I was worried would be complicated, such as installing CSV Import, were not that bad.
